Welcome-

Energy Performance Certificates (EPC) are required by law on any property being constructed, sold or put up for rent. If it relates to a rental property it is a stand alone document or otherwise part of the Home Information Pack on the sale of a property.

If you are a landlord you need to make an EPC available to prospective tenants the first time you let your home. The certificate is valid for 10 years.

Since 6th April 2009 you must provide an EPC within the HIP (Home Information Pack) before you market your property. The EPC is valid for 3 years.

You do not need to rent or sell your property to get an EPC. If you are interested in the environment and want to find out how efficient your property is we can produce a certificate for you, giving recommendations you may choose to undertake, which could save you money.

The certificate will give prospective purchasers an easy to read guide to the likely energy costs of occupying the property in a similar way that current 'white goods', such as a fridge or washing machine, have an efficiency label.

The government is committed to comply with EU Directive 2002/91/EC which aims to promote improvements in the energy performance of buidings.

Domestic energy consumption causes 25% of national CO2 emissions, and heating uses 90% of energy in the home. Improvement in the energy efficiency of our homes is therefore important in reducing our overall emissions.
