What we do- Energy Performance Certificates are produced from a survey that records numerous elements of a property regarding its construction and insulative properties. The survey takes around 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete depending on the size of your home and its complexity in terms of extensions, conservatories and roof room coversions.. The major elements of the survey record information such as;
Before the survey is undertaken there are some simple measures that can be undertaken to enhance the energy performance of a property such as ensuring the hot water cylinder insulation is in good condition and secured correctly and by fitting low energy lamps to fixed light sources. Energy Performance Certificates tell you how energy efficient a home is on a scale of A-G. The most efficient homes - which should have the lowest fuel bills - are in band A. The Certificate also tells you, on a scale of A-G, about the impact the home has on the environment. Better-rated homes should have less impact through carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. The average property in the UK is in bands D-E for both ratings. The Certificate includes recommendations on ways to improve the home's energy efficiency to save you money and help the environment. Sellers of newly built homes will have to provide a Predicted Energy Assessment of the energy efficiency of the property. Energy Performance Certificates should be provided to the buyer when the home is complete.
